Bhubaneswar launches five-day national exhibition honoring Lord Jagannath

Bhubaneswar state museum is currently hosting an exceptional five-day national art event titled "Mo Manara Jagannath". Subhadra Art Gallery organized this gathering at Kalinga Art Gallery to celebrate the holy Rath Yatra festival. Running until July 18, 2026, this showcase brings together more than 60 established and emerging creators from across Odisha. Visitors can freely explore a unique blend of modern interpretations and traditional craftsmanship under one roof.

Cultural Heritage Meets Modern Canvas

Chief Guest Bishnupada Sethi officially opened the doors by lighting the sacred lamp. During his address, the Odisha Forest Development Corporation Chairman emphasized how creative expression actively protects cultural values for future generations. BJP Krushak Morcha Vice President Maheswar Parida delivered welcoming remarks, focusing on Lord Jagannath as a universal symbol of equality and brotherhood.

Raghurajpur artisans hold a special place in this specific exhibition. This prominent heritage village in Puri district has kept the intricate Pattachitra art form alive since the 12th century. Including their masterful traditional works creates a striking contrast with contemporary abstract paintings. Sikkim University Vice-Chancellor Professor Shantanu Swain praised this cultural initiative. He noted it strongly helps younger generations connect directly with their historical roots.

Recognizing Regional Creative Excellence

Subhadra Art Gallery Chairman Dr. Surya Rath introduced the respected dignitaries to the audience. Director Ashok Nayak then coordinated a special felicitation ceremony to honor all participating creators. Several notable local figures attended this cultural gathering. Ekamra-Bhubaneswar MLA Babu Singh, retired IRS officer Manoranjan Panigrahi, and Museum Head Dr. Bharati Pal supported the artists. Renowned singer Sasmita Das and lyricist Panchanan Nayak also graced the occasion with their presence.
