Gold drops Rs 700, silver plunges Rs 8,900 in New Delhi

Gold prices declined by Rs 700 to Rs 1.46 lakh per 10 grams in the national capital on Tuesday, while silver recorded a steep fall of Rs 8,900 per kilogram, reflecting weak demand in the domestic bullion market.

New Delhi, July 14: Gold prices declined by Rs 700 to Rs 1.46 lakh per 10 grams in the national capital on Tuesday, while silver recorded a steep fall of Rs 8,900 per kilogram, reflecting weak demand in the domestic bullion market.

According to the All India Sarafa Association, gold of 99.9 per cent purity slipped by Rs 700 to Rs 1,46,300 per 10 grams (inclusive of all taxes), compared with Monday's closing price of Rs 1,47,000 per 10 grams.

Silver witnessed an even sharper decline, dropping Rs 8,900 to Rs 2,26,100 per kilogram (inclusive of all taxes), amid subdued buying interest in the local market.
