SC told Asaram doesn't need hospitalisation; interim bail plea to be heard on Aug 6

New Delhi, August 4: The Supreme Court on Tuesday was informed that a medical board from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has concluded that self-styled godman Asaram does not require hospitalisation, though he needs continuous medical care and monitoring.

A bench comprising Justices M M Sundresh and P B Varale was hearing Asaram's interim bail plea filed on medical grounds when it was apprised of the AIIMS report.

Representing the Rajasthan government, a counsel told the court that the AIIMS report found no necessity for hospital admission. The counsel also submitted that Asaram is already receiving all the required medical facilities.

The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear the matter further on August 6.
