Ayodhya, July 22: The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has postponed the appointment of its first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) by one month after receiving an overwhelming response of more than 5,200 applications for the post.

The decision was taken during a meeting of the Trust's Board of Trustees on Wednesday, where members reviewed key administrative, financial and temple-related issues. According to PTI, the Trust will appoint a secretary on an interim basis to manage its expanding administrative responsibilities until the CEO is selected.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Trust Treasurer Govind Dev Giri said the selection committee had sought additional time to scrutinise the large number of applications.

"We have received 5,200 applications for the CEO post. Given the volume of applications, the selection committee requested one month's extension, which has been approved by the Trust," he said.

The Trust said appointing an interim secretary would ensure that day-to-day administrative work continues smoothly while the recruitment process is underway.

The Board also reviewed preparations for the anticipated surge in devotees visiting the Ram Temple during the holy month of Shravan. Discussions were held on filling vacant trustee positions and other administrative and financial matters.

In another key decision, the Trust approved the formation of a permanent religious committee to oversee all religious affairs of the Ram Temple. The committee will consist of nine saints, including five from Ayodhya and four from other parts of the country, Govind Dev Giri said.
