Bhubaneswar, July 22: House after returning from Delhi, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Odisha Assembly Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday evening held a crucial meeting with the party's district presidents at Naveen Niwas here.

The meeting focused on organisational activities, preparations for the upcoming Panchayat and Urban Local Body elections and the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

Maintaining that the second phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) is extremely crucial and every vote matters, Patnaik directed party leaders to remain vigilant to ensure that no eligible voter's name is deleted from the electoral rolls during the ongoing special drive across the State.

To bolster the party's organisational structure ahead of the rural and ULB elections due in mid-2027, Patnaik directed formation of district and block committees by August 15.

He also emphasised strengthening the party's outreach programme.

He also expressed confidence that the party would replicate its strong performance in the upcoming Panchayat and Municipal elections in the State. He urged leaders to intensify preparations at every level to reach out to the people.

Several senior party leaders including Pramilla Malik, Debi Prasad Mishra, Pradip Amat, Pratap Jena, Niranjan Pujari, Tukuni Sahu also attended the meeting.
