Bhubaneswar, April 17: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar is all set to celebrate its 14th convocation on April 18.
Prof. V. S. Ramamurthy, Padma Bhushan awardee and former Secretary, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India will grace the occasion as the chief guest and will deliver the convocation address. Prof. Shreepad Karmalkar, IIT Bhubaneswar Director, will present the Convocation report and confer the degrees on the students.
During this convocation, the institute will confer degrees on 802 students for the academic year 2024-25. Out of these students, 12% are PhD, 22% M.Tech, 12% M.Sc, 13% Dual degree (B.Tech and M.Tech) and 41% B.Tech.
Various awards -President of India Gold Medal, Director’s Gold Medals for Best Academic Performances, Institute Silver Medals for Best Academic Performances in different branches, and Endowment Awards including Dr. K. Kasturirangan Award for the best Male Graduate, Prof. P. Rama Rao Award for the best Lady Graduate, Dinesh Memorial Award for the best B.Tech Thesis in Mechanical Sciences, B. K. De Memorial Award for the best B.Tech Thesis and Tejaswi Memorial Award for the best B. Tech Thesis in Electrical and Computer Sciences will be presented to the best-performing students during the convocation.
