Govt push for AI, cyber security training to boost state ranking

Bhubaneswar, March 28: In a move aimed at strengthening digital capacity and improving the state’s ranking, government employees will undergo training in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cyber Security. Officials have been directed to complete at least one course every month.

The initiative focuses on enhancing performance across three key areas, including expanding departmental coverage of active users and encouraging employees to complete multiple courses. Employees completing more than one course are expected to contribute to an improved state ranking.

According to official data, as of March 2026, a total of 3,88,854 employees have been onboarded, while 18,80,332 have registered for the programme. Among them, 12,45,956 employees have already completed AI-related courses.

The government believes the initiative will strengthen digital skills among employees and help improve governance outcomes.
