Bhubaneswar: Racing from the back, Belgium maintained their winning streak and registered a hattrick win in the FIH Men’s Hockey Pro League at Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela by defeating Argentina by 5-2 goals on Friday.
Argentina started with an aggressive manner, after the goalless first quarter, they got the much-awaited lead in the 19thminute through a goal by Domene Tomas.
After the change of sides, Belgium changed their gear, Sloover Arthur and Biekens Tobias scored a goal each in the 36thand 39thminutes respectively and put Belgium in the driver seat. However, in a counter attack Lucas Martinez scored the equaliser for Argentina in the 45thminute.
As like other matches at Rourkela, Belgium kept their cool till the last quarter and nailed three goals in the final quarter, while Alexander Hendrickx scored a brace for the winners in the 49thand 54thminutes. However Roman Duvekot scored a goal in the 56thminute and made it a 5-2 victory for Belgium.
