Citizens across the state should gear up for shifting climatic conditions, as daytime heat is expected to climb steadily. Current meteorological data indicates that maximum temperatures will jump by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius over the next 48 hours. Following this initial spike, thermometers are expected to stabilize without any major fluctuations in the subsequent days.
Recent observations highlight that scorching conditions are already setting in. Titilagarh recorded the highest maximum temperature at a sweltering 38.5 degrees Celsius over the past 24 hours. Conversely, Phulbani offered a brief respite with the state's lowest minimum temperature settling at 17.0 degrees Celsius. For those living in the twin cities, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack registered maximum temperatures of 35.6 degrees and 34.4 degrees Celsius respectively.

Heat is not the only concern highlighted in the latest Odisha weather forecast. Officials have issued specific warnings for severe weather events disrupting the otherwise sunny days. For Day 1, Day 3, and Day 4 of the current prediction cycle, isolated thunderstorms are highly likely. Residents in the affected yellow-zone districts—including Koraput, Rayagada, Ganjam, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj—must remain vigilant. These storms will bring dangerous lightning strikes and gusty surface winds roaring at speeds between 40 and 50 kilometers per hour.
Days 2, 5, 6, and 7 currently show no active warnings, meaning locals can expect relatively calmer conditions during those specific windows.

Before the dry heat fully takes over, certain coastal and interior pockets experienced notable precipitation. The Tihidi station in Bhadrak district received the heaviest rainfall at 38.0 mm. Other areas like Basudevpur, Bahanga in Balasore, and Bolagarh in Khurda also reported varying amounts of light to moderate showers.
