Bhubaneswar, Sept 3: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted widespread rainfall with thunder and lightning across Odisha till September 6.

Sundargarh, Sambalpur, and Jharsuguda districts are under an orange warning with very heavy rain (7–20 cm) likely, while Boudh, Sonepur, Bargarh, Balangir, Nuapada, and Koraput are under a yellow warning. Other districts may experience light to moderate rain with thunderstorms.

The IMD has cautioned about possible lightning, gusty winds (30–40 kmph), and waterlogging. Warnings for heavy rain and thunderstorms remain in effect for multiple districts over the next four days.
