Hotel manager arrested for alleged attempt to rape woman in Bhubaneswar

Bhubanewar, June 27: The Commissionerate Police have arrested the manager of a hotel in Bhubaneswar for allegedly attempting to rape a woman from West Bengal.

The accused has been identified as Jayant Kumar Nayak.

According to police, the woman, a resident of West Bengal, had been staying at the hotel located in the GA Colony area under the jurisdiction of Bharatpur Police Station.

The incident allegedly occurred after the woman fell ill and contacted the hotel reception for assistance. Police said the hotel manager allegedly took advantage of the situation, entered her room and attempted to sexually assault her.

The woman reportedly resisted the assault and immediately approached the police to lodge a complaint.

Based on her complaint, Bharatpur Police registered a case, launched an investigation and arrested the accused. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
