New Delhi, Nov 10: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is all set to inaugurate the Cooperative Kumbh 2025 (CoopKumbh 2025) at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi today.

Organized by the National Federation of Urban Cooperative Banks and Credit Societies (NAFCUB) under the aegis of the Ministry of Cooperation, the CoopKumbh 2025 is a two-day international conference on the Urban Cooperative Credit Sector, themed “Digitizing Dreams – Empowering Communities”.

It aims to strengthen the cooperative foundation for financial inclusion and drive innovation in the cooperative banking landscape.

CoopKumbh 2025 serves as a key platform aimed at fostering collaboration among policymakers, regulators, cooperative leaders, financial institutions, and technology innovators from India and around the world.

Emphasising the importance of the event, NAFCUB President Laxmi Dass noted that the conference will address a broad spectrum of issues, including digital transformation, governance reforms, and the promotion of women and youth leadership within the cooperative sector.

He further highlighted that CoopKumbh 2025 aspires to empower communities through dialogue, innovation, and a collective vision—reinforcing the cooperative model’s vital role in driving India’s inclusive growth journey.

The conference will also feature participation from international experts, including representatives from the World Council of Credit Unions and GreenStone Farm Credit Services, who will share their perspectives on global best practices in cooperative finance and sustainable banking.

Marking a milestone for the global cooperative movement, CoopKumbh 2025 coincides with the United Nations’ declaration of 2025 as the International Year of Cooperatives.

The event highlights the crucial role of cooperative finance in promoting economic empowerment, driving digital innovation, and fostering community-led development.

With active participation from key stakeholders across the cooperative ecosystem, CoopKumbh 2025 is set to pave the way for a transformative future for India’s urban cooperative credit institutions—strengthening their position as vital engines of grassroots financial inclusion and social progress.
