Reports have emerged suggesting that Trinamool Congress (TMC) Member of Parliament, Mahua Moitra, and veteran Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader, Pinaki Misra, have married. The nuptials reportedly took place in a discreet ceremony held abroad on May 3rd, 2025. At present, neither Ms. Moitra nor Mr. Misra has publicly confirmed this development.

Ms. Moitra, aged 50, is a two-time Lok Sabha MP representing the Krishnanagar constituency in West Bengal, having been first elected in 2019 and subsequently re-elected in 2024. Before her political career, which began with joining the TMC in 2010, she worked as an investment banker. She has gained national recognition for her articulate and often fiery speeches in Parliament.

Mr. Misra, 65, is a seasoned politician and a senior advocate, and his political journey began with the Indian National Congress, under which he first won the Puri seat in 1996. He later joined the Biju Janata Dal, led by Naveen Patnaik, and has since been re-elected multiple times. Mr. Misra is an alumnus of St. Stephen's College and the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi.

Sources, have confirmed the marriage, and a photograph purportedly from the event shows Ms. Moitra in traditional attire adorned with heavy gold jewellery alongside Mr. Misra, indicative of a private but ceremonious wedding.

The reported union of these two prominent figures from different political parties, both influential voices in Indian politics, has garnered considerable public and media interest.
