New Delhi, May 13: Google has announced the launch of applications for its Google for Startups Accelerator: AI First India 2025 program, aimed at empowering the country’s rapidly growing AI startup ecosystem.
The program is targeted at early-stage startups—from Seed to Series A—developing solutions in areas like Agentic AI and Multimodal AI. Applications are open until June 30, 2025, according to the official statement released by Google on Tuesday.
“As part of our ongoing commitment to India’s vibrant startup landscape and in alignment with the broader goals of the IndiaAI Mission, supported by MeitY Startup Hub, we’re excited to open applications for the AI First program,” Google said in the statement.
India’s technology sector continues to expand rapidly, driven by skilled talent, robust infrastructure, and government support. AI adoption is accelerating, particularly under national initiatives like the IndiaAI Mission. Google highlighted that India’s Generative AI market is projected to surpass $17 billion by 2030, and AI is expected to play a vital role in achieving the government’s target of a $1 trillion digital economy by 2028.
Selected startups in the accelerator will gain access to world-class mentorship from Google experts across teams like DeepMind, Cloud, Android, Play, and Ads. Each startup will receive personalized support from dedicated startup success managers based on their individual goals and milestones.
Participants will also benefit from access to free Cloud TPUs, eligible Google Cloud credits, and the latest AI technologies, including Gemini, Gemma, Imagen, and Veo. The program is designed to help startups overcome technical challenges and scale more efficiently.
Reflecting on the success of last year’s cohort, Google reported that participating startups collectively raised over $61 million in funding, integrated with the Google Cloud Marketplace, and saw substantial product improvements.
“Last year’s AI First India program had a significant impact, and we’re excited to support the next wave of AI-driven innovation in India through this year’s accelerator,” Google added.
