New Delhi, December 6: Ghaziabad emerged as the most polluted city in India for the month of November, with an alarming average PM2.5 concentration of 224 micrograms per cubic meter. The city's air quality remained consistently above the national safety standards throughout the entire month, as per a recent analysis.

The report, compiled by the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA), also listed Noida, Bahadurgarh, Delhi, Hapur, Greater Noida, Baghpat, Sonipat, Meerut, and Rohtak among the top 10 most polluted cities in India. Uttar Pradesh was found to be home to six of these cities, while Haryana had three, and Delhi was the only union territory in the list.
