Jatni, Sept 14: Amid the festive atmosphere surrounding Ganesh Puja, a tragic road accident in Jatni claimed the lives of two young men late Sunday night.

According to reports, the accident took place at Haribhaina Chhak in Jatni when the motorcycle carrying the two youths crashed into a road divider.

The two were reportedly travelling on the bike at high speed when the rider lost control of the vehicle. The motorcycle rammed into the divider, throwing both riders onto the road. The impact also severely damaged the motorcycle.

Hearing about the accident, local residents rushed to the spot and rescued the two injured riders. They were subsequently taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

However, doctors declared both of them dead after they were brought to the hospital.

The deceased were reportedly residents of the Kudiari area of Jatni.

Police reached the accident site and launched an investigation into the incident. Further details regarding the exact circumstances leading to the crash are awaited.
