Bhubaneswar, Oct 23: A fresh low pressure area is likely to form over the southeast and adjoining east-central Bay of Bengal tomorrow, said the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday.
According to the weather department, this weather system is likely to develop under the influence of an upper-air cyclonic circulation currently located over the southeast Bay of Bengal and the adjoining south Andaman Sea, extending up to the mid-tropospheric levels.
The IMD added that the low-pressure area is expected to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a more significant weather system over the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, weather experts are closely tracking its development for any signs of further intensification or potential cyclonic formation. Residents of southern Odisha are advised to remain alert and follow IMD updates for the latest weather advisories.
