Ahmedabad, June 16:Former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, who was one among the deceaseds in the Air India Plane crash on Thursday, was cremated here with full state honour.
The state mourned whereas tributes poured in from across the state and the nation as well while the remnants of Rupanui were carried in a grand procession, to perform his last rites.
The last rites of Rupani began with state honours in Rajkot on Monday afternoon.
A deeply emotional moment unfolded as Rupani’s wife, Anjali Rupani, bid her final farewell, while Vijay’s body remnants were taken out of the residence. Surrounded by grieving family members and close friends, she offered the final adieu to late Rupani.
Union home minister Amit Shah and Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel laid wreaths and offered their final respects to Rupani.
Health minister Rushikesh Patel and minister of state for home Harsh Sanghavi also paid their tributes.
