Glenn Phillips and Jacob Duffy secure historic T20I win

Glenn Phillips scored an exceptional century to guide New Zealand to an 87-run victory over India in their fourth T20I encounter in Auckland. Striking 107 runs from just 49 deliveries, Phillips received crucial support from Michael Bracewell, who contributed a rapid 65 from 25 balls. Their aggressive 115-run partnership off 40 deliveries helped the hosts reach 259 for 7, establishing their highest-ever T20I score against the touring side. Despite this setback, India maintains a 3-1 lead in the five-match series following three consecutive successful chases earlier in the tour. Facing a target of 260, the visiting batting order struggled against disciplined fast bowling from the outset. Jacob Duffy dismantled the top order by removing Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan in the first over. Duffy eventually claimed four wickets for 23 runs, while Mitchell Santner and Matthew Fisher took two wickets each to restrict the chase. Tilak Varma top-scored with 35 runs, but the lineup ultimately finished at 172 for 9.

Mayank Yadav emerged as the leading wicket-taker for the visitors, claiming three dismissals despite conceding early boundaries. Pacer Arshdeep Singh achieved a notable personal milestone by capturing his 150th T20I wicket, becoming the first Indian bowler to reach this mark. On the opposing side, New Zealand spinner Mitchell Santner also secured his 150th wicket in the format during his economical spell. This decisive result provides New Zealand with vital momentum heading into the final fixture, snapping their previous losing streak and highlighting their explosive batting capabilities.
