Extensive security measures in place for Odisha Assembly's Monsoon Session

Bhubaneswar, Sept 17: Ahead of the Odisha Assembly's Monsoon Session starting tomorrow, the Commissionerate Police has made extensive security measures, including a three-tier security system and deployment of 30 police platoons to ensure safe and smooth proceedings.

As per reports, barricades have been set up around the Assembly and nearby areas. Vehicle movement is restricted on surrounding roads, with only emergency vehicles permitted to pass through the restricted zones.

The security arrangement will include not only the police force but also a striking force, STF, bomb disposal squad, dog squad, and fire brigade to provide comprehensive coverage.

Apart from this, CCTV cameras have been installed at key locations, including the Assembly, Lower PMG, and Rabindra Mandap, for surveillance.

Additionally, five temporary police control rooms have been set up at the Assembly gate, Rabindra Mandap gate, and Lower PMG to prevent incidents and ensure the safety of MLAs, officials, and other stakeholders.

Sources reveal that armed security forces will be stationed around the Assembly, while plainclothes police will monitor for suspicious activity. Director General of Police Y.B. Khurania will inspect the security arrangements to ensure a smooth session.

Earlier on Monday, the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police released a traffic advisory to ensure smooth flow of vehicles in the capital city ahead of the Monsoon session.
