Elderly man trampled to death by tusker in Koida forest region

Koida, Sept 11: A tragic incident unfolded in the Girwal Hatting area of San Indupur under the Koira forest region, where an elderly man was dragged out of his home and trampled to death by a wild tusker.

The victim, identified as Shibram Badaik, was reportedly asleep inside his house when the elephant broke in, pulled him out with its trunk, and crushed him to death. The attack occurred in the early hours, leaving the local community in shock and fear.

Despite the severity of the incident, sources confirm that the forest department had not arrived at the site even hours after the attack. As of the time of reporting, the deceased’s body remained near his residence, awaiting official intervention.

The gruesome incident has triggered widespread anger and panic among residents, who are demanding immediate action to drive the elephant back into the forest and prevent further loss of life.
