Bhubaneswar, May 29: In a heart-wrenching incident, an elderly man was run over and dragged by a speeding 'Ama Bus' in Khandagiri, Bhubaneswar.
The victim, identified as a 55-year-old Trinath Barik from the Bhimatangi area, was struck by the bus and dragged several meters before the driver fled the scene. The incident triggered outrage among local residents, who blocked the road in protest. In a demonstration of anger, the crowd placed the victim’s body on the road and vandalized several other buses by throwing stones, causing damage to their windows.Bhubaneswar DCP Jagmohan Meena confirmed that the driver of the 'Ama Bus' has been arrested, and the vehicle has been seized. The accused driver is set to be presented in court today.
