Sambalpur, Jul 26: The General Manager of East Coast Railway (ECoR), Parmeshwar Funkwal, conducted an extensive inspection of the Sambalpur–Titlagarh–Theruvali railway section under the Sambalpur Division on Friday, focusing on infrastructure development and passenger amenities.
According to an official release by ECoR, the inspection covered key stations including Bargarh Road, Barpali, and Doikallu. During the visit, GM Funkwal thoroughly reviewed the current passenger facilities, assessed the progress of ongoing development projects, and evaluated initiatives aimed at strengthening railway infrastructure across the route.
Particular attention was given to works being carried out under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, which seeks to modernise and enhance passenger amenities, making station environments more comfortable and efficient.
In addition to station inspections, Funkwal interacted with frontline railway personnel and examined operational establishments and fixed assets to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
He was accompanied by Subash C. Chaudhary, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Sambalpur, along with other senior officials from the division.
The inspection is part of ECoR’s ongoing efforts to enhance rail services and infrastructure in western Odisha, thereby improving the passenger experience and operational efficiency across key railway corridors.
