Berhampur, Oct 17: A youth died after coming in contact with an electric wire while preparing a Durga Puja pandal in Siddheswar village under Digapahandi block in Odisha’s Ganjam district.

The deceased has been identified as Jagannath Bisoi, a resident of Siddheswar village.

According to reports, several youths were jointly preparing the Durga Puja pandal on Saturday morning to celebrate the festival with grandeur. During the preparations, Jagannath accidentally came in contact with an electric wire and collapsed.

He was immediately rescued and rushed to the Digapahandi Community Health Centre. However, doctors declared him dead.

The tragic incident has plunged Siddheswar village into mourning. Following the incident, villagers are reportedly discussing whether to proceed with the Durga Puja celebrations.
