Jagatsinghpur, Sep 13: In a brazen incident late Saturday night, a group of alleged drug dealers reportedly attempted to run over police personnel with a car in Jagatsinghpur district, leaving a constable seriously injured.

According to reports, a police team was patrolling the area after receiving information about suspected drug dealing. During the patrolling, the accused allegedly drove their car towards the police team in an attempt to mow them down.
Police constable Nityanand sustained serious injuries in the attack.
Police arrested the alleged main accused, Vicky Parija and Zaki Parija, at the spot. Three other suspects, however, managed to flee the scene.

Officials said both arrested accused have several criminal cases registered against them at different police stations and were out on bail at the time of the incident.
Meanwhile, police have launched a manhunt for the three absconding suspects.
