New Delhi, November 6: President Droupadi Murmu on Friday interacted with traditional and folk artists from different parts of the country at Rashtrapati Bhavan and appreciated their artworks depicting the vision of Viksit Bharat (Developed India).

The artists are participating in the Artists-in-Residence Programme at the presidential residence, where they have been showcasing India's rich and diverse cultural heritage through traditional art forms, including Aipan, Kalamkari, Mata ni Pachedi, Kavi, Pichwai and Warli.

As part of the programme, the participating artists have created a series of artworks based on the theme of Viksit Bharat, blending age-old artistic traditions with contemporary ideas of national development. Their creations portray modern cities, infrastructure development, wind turbines and sustainable energy, highlighting India's journey towards progress while preserving its cultural roots.

According to a post shared on the official social media handle of the President of India, President Murmu met the artists and witnessed their creative works at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The post noted that the artists, representing diverse regions and artistic traditions, had developed their creations around the theme of Viksit Bharat during their residency.

Photographs released from Rashtrapati Bhavan showed the President closely examining the artworks and interacting with the artists. A group photograph also captured President Murmu with the participating artists.

The Artists-in-Residence Programme aims to provide a platform for practitioners of traditional and regional art forms to display their creativity at the presidential residence.
