Dhenkanal, Oct 5: The Deula Sahi Puja Committee in Dhenkanal is all set to dazzle devotees this year with a grand decoration made of approximately one quintal of silver, known locally as Chandi Medha. The shimmering setup has already become a major attraction ahead of the Gajalaxmi Puja celebrations.

Celebrated since 1943, the Deula Sahi Gajalaxmi Puja has been an enduring symbol of faith, unity, and brotherhood in the region. This year marks its glorious 83rd year of celebration, continuing the age-old rituals and cultural traditions that have bound the community together for generations.

The silver embellishments, crafted with intricate designs, enhance the divine beauty of Goddess Laxmi’s idol, drawing large crowds eager to witness the majestic splendour. Organisers said that the Chandi Medha not only represents devotion but also reflects the collective contribution and spirit of harmony among the residents of Deula Sahi.
