A youth succumbed to the disease, while nearly eight others have been affected and are currently undergoing treatment at various medical facilities.
In response to the situation, a health team led by Dr. Swadhin Kumar Rath, the Chief Medical Officer of the BeMC, visited the affected area. The team collected water samples from various stagnant water sources in the village to test its potential breeding grounds for mosquitoes. These samples have been sent to the laboratory for analysis.
To raise awareness and prevent further spread of the disease, local authorities have launched a series of awareness programs. A public meeting was conducted at the Aryapalli Panchayat office under the leadership of Panchayat Sarpanch Trilochan Behera.
Additionally, local ASHA workers have been mobilized to educate the community about preventing the disease's further spread. The efforts include maintaining a clean environment, eliminating stagnant water where mosquitoes breed, and encouraging people to seek treatment at government health centers if they notice any symptoms of dengue.
The authorities are hopeful that with continuous awareness and community participation, further cases will be prevented.
