Bhubaneswar, Sep 19: The Odisha government has stepped in to facilitate the return of the mortal remains of eight people who died in a tragic road accident in Madhya Pradesh’s Agar Malwa district.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed deep grief over the incident and directed state officials to coordinate closely with the Madhya Pradesh government and the local administration to expedite all necessary procedures.
CM Majhi said the Odisha government stands with the bereaved families in their hour of grief and stressed that the remains of the victims should be brought back to Odisha with due dignity.
The victims, including seven members of an Odisha family and a taxi driver, were killed after their vehicle was swept away by an overflowing drain near the Maa Baglamukhi Temple in Nalkheda.
The deceased included two women, three children and three men. The incident was reported on Saturday.

Agar Malwa’s district administration has designated officials including the Collector and Superintendent of Police to oversee local administrative and police matters.
