Agar Malwa/ Bhubaneswar, Sept 19: Eight members of a family from Odisha died tragically after their car was swept away by a rain-swollen drain near Nalkheda in Madhya Pradesh’s Agar Malwa district in the early hours of Saturday.
According to reports, the family had travelled to Madhya Pradesh to visit the Maa Baglamukhi Temple. The accident occurred when their vehicle was crossing a flooded stretch of road near the temple. The strong water current reportedly swept the car into a nearby drain.
The deceased were from the same family and included three children, two women and two men.
Following the incident, local police and rescue teams launched an operation and pulled the submerged vehicle out of the drain. However, all eight occupants were declared dead by medical officials.
The incident has left the family and local community in deep shock.
