Singapore City, May 27: Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi, part of a nine-member all-party Indian parliamentary delegation led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, emphasized in Singapore that combating terrorism is a universally accepted agenda across all countries they have visited, including Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, and Singapore. Sarangi said there is a strong consensus, both internationally and within the delegation, about Pakistan's role in promoting terrorism.
"We have been meeting different segments of the society in all the countries we are supposed to be visiting... Everybody, whosoever we are meeting, and even among ourselves, we are all speaking the same language. Combating terrorism is an agenda item which has been accepted in almost all the countries we have been to so far...," Sarangi told.
The delegation met Singaporean leaders, including Minister Edwin Tong and Senior Minister Sim Ann, to highlight India’s firm stance against terrorism. Jha reaffirmed that India will respond decisively to terrorist threats, including those involving nuclear blackmail. The team presented evidence of Pakistan’s involvement in terror activities and sought global support, receiving positive responses from several countries, especially Japan.
The visit aims to strengthen diplomatic ties and rally international backing for a united stand against terrorism. (With Agency Input)
