Bhubaneswar, Oct 8: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced an increase in the gratuity limit for State Government employees from ₹15 lakh to ₹20 lakh, effective retrospectively from January 1, 2024.

This enhancement applies to the Death-Cum-Retirement Gratuity (DCRG) benefits for all regular employees of the State Government.

The decision comes in response to requests from various service associations, which had urged the government to raise the DCRG ceiling.

This move aligns with the Central Government's recent enhancement of retirement and death gratuity benefits under the Central Civil Services (Pension) Rules, 2021, also effective from January 2024.
