Rayagada, Sept 7: Another alleged case of student harassment has come to light at a school hostel in Rayagada district, where a Class 6 student was reportedly assaulted by a Class 10 senior student at Rayagada Government High School.

According to reports, the junior student, who resides in the school hostel, was allegedly beaten severely by the senior student. The senior student is also accused of forcing the Class 6 student to perform chores, including washing clothes and cleaning utensils.

The junior student reportedly sustained an injury to his left hand in the incident.

Local residents have alleged that the school authorities attempted to suppress the matter. They reportedly informed the family of the victim about the alleged harassment, following which the incident came to light.

The school authorities have not yet issued an official response to the allegations. There has also reportedly been no communication from the administration regarding the incident so far.
