New Delhi, June 21:  On the occasion of the 11th International Yoga Day, a special yoga session was organized at the Administrative Building Complex of the Supreme Court in New Delhi on Saturday. Chief Justice of India (CJI) BR Gavai actively took part in the event and addressed fellow participants, emphasizing the importance of yoga in daily life.

The celebration at the Supreme Court was part of a nationwide movement, as people across India stepped out to join yoga events held in various cities and towns. Recognized globally, June 21 serves as a reminder of the significance of adopting a healthy and balanced lifestyle through yoga, a practice that promotes both physical and mental well-being.

Across India, several ministers and public figures participated in local events to spread awareness and inspire citizens to incorporate yoga into their lives. Among the most notable celebrations was the main event in Visakhapatnam, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi led a mass yoga session along the city’s scenic coastline.

Addressing the global community on this occasion, PM Modi urged nations to embrace "inner peace" as a global policy and treat yoga as a shared responsibility for the collective good.

"Let this International Yoga Day mark the beginning of 'Yoga for Humanity.' Let inner peace become a global policy. Let yoga be embraced not just as a personal practice, but as a powerful tool for global partnership and unity," the Prime Minister said.

Thousands of yoga practitioners, residents, and dignitaries, along with Indian Navy ships anchored nearby, joined the celebrations in Visakhapatnam, making the event both grand and symbolic.

This year’s theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” reflects India’s holistic vision of global wellness. It highlights the deep connection between human and planetary health, rooted in the Indian philosophy of “Sarve Santu Niramaya” (May all be free from disease).

The 11th International Day of Yoga witnessed widespread enthusiasm and participation, reinforcing yoga’s growing global relevance and its power to unite communities in the pursuit of health and harmony.
