Delhi mobilises 30000 personnel to secure arriving world dignitaries
Security operations across New Delhi have reached peak alert with 30,000 personnel taking positions to protect heads of state arriving for the BRICS summit. Roughly half of the protection contingent comes from Delhi Police, while paramilitary units provide the remaining force. Each designated zone operates under the direct supervision of a deputy commissioner or an additional deputy commissioner to maintain strict command across the capital.

Fortified Lodgings and Separate Stays
Visiting dignitaries will stay in distinct luxury quarters across the city, backed by stringent protective cordons. Russian President Vladimir Putin lands at Palam Air Force Station on September 11, sharing his hotel with VIP guests from Bangladesh. Chinese President Xi Jinping touches down on September 12 to stay alongside the president of Belarus under the direct guard of the Delhi Police Special Cell. Advance security teams from Moscow and Beijing are already stationed at these venues, equipped with specialised arms, while officers have vetted every hotel worker across local and home-state databases. Meanwhile, Iran's president will occupy a completely separate, dedicated hotel during his stay in the capital. Other delegates will share alternate accommodations, including the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi staying alongside Gulf and South American financial chiefs.
Sector Shields and Motorcade Protocols
Movement to the main venue at Bharat Mandapam follows an exact timetable. Traffic units have finalised specialized corridors and conducted test runs to guarantee seamless passage. On Saturday, leaders will reach Bharat Mandapam between 1:30 pm and 2:15 pm, followed by Sunday morning entries starting at 8:50 am. The UAE Crown Prince will arrive first on both days, whereas President Putin will conclude the entry order. Delegations from China and Russia will operate the largest motorcades on city roads, flying in their own convoy vehicles. This gathering represents India’s largest multilateral security operation since hosting the G20 leaders in 2023.
