Bhubaneswar, Jan 20: With SAMALEI project inauguration on January 27, the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has also planned to start a campaign in western Odisha soon.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will inaugurate the transformational SAMALEI project at Sambalpur city on coming Saturday.
For this mega event, Samalei Temple Trust Board will distribute coconuts at all the houses and collect vermilion for the Goddess Samaleswari in western Odisha.
On the other hand, the ruling BJD has simultaneously made a strategy to launch its campaign in western Odisha. Therefore, the party organizational secretary Pranab Prakash Das and party observer for Sambalpur Lok sabha seat, Manas Mangraj has been frequently visiting Sambalpur.
They had held meetings with senior party leaders of western Odisha and chalked out a plan for the ensuing election.
The party leaders have been asked to start meeting in each ward. There is rumor that the BJD has started ward meetings in the entire Western Odisha and has indirectly prepared a strategy to win the elections in the region..
Senior party leaders Prasanna Acharya, Minister Niranjan Pujari, Rairakhol MLA Rohit Pujari, Bhatli MLA Sushanta Singh, Ex- MLA Dr. Raseswari Panigrahi, Samalei Temple Trust Board chairman Sanjay Babu, Party General Secretary Sidhartha Das and other few party leaders were present in the meeting.
It is worth noting that the temple of Goddess Maa Samaleswari in Sambalpur is a famous shrine of the 16th century. In 2021, the Chief Minister started the SAMALEI (Samaleswari Temple Area Management and Local Economy Initiatives) project for its development for Rs 200 crore. Along with the beautifiaction of the temple, all kinds of measures have been taken to create a spiritual environment for the devotees.
Along with the temple, the Mahanadi Ghat is also being developed. To properly implement this project, 5T and Nabin Odisha chairman VK Pandian visited Sambalpur many times and reviewed the project work.
