Bhubaneswar, Oct 9: As the vibrant celebrations of Durga Puja approach, the Twin City Commissionerate Police are implementing comprehensive traffic restrictions in Bhubaneswar from October 9 to 13, ensuring smooth movement for the thousands of devotees expected to attend.
To manage the expected influx of traffic, heavy vehicles coming from Khordha will be redirected from Pitapalli to Balikuda via Chandaka and Baranga. Traffic will also be diverted from CRP Square to Jaydev Vihar during peak times.
From 4 pm to 2 am during these days, heavy vehicles will be prohibited from several key routes. These include:
During the Ravan Podi celebrations, all vehicles approaching NH-16 from Cuttack will be rerouted from Jaydev Vihar to CRP Square via Behera Sahi and Sastri Nagar.
However, in a bid to facilitate passenger movement, buses traveling from Puri to Bhubaneswar will still operate from Lingipur to Baramunda Bus Stand, and vice versa. Buses coming from the Puri toward Cuttack will also take a bypass route, ensuring efficient travel for all.
Importantly, these traffic regulations will not affect emergency vehicles, including those for police, fire services, and ambulances, allowing them to navigate freely throughout the festivities.
These measures reflect the commitment of local authorities to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone during this significant cultural celebration.
