Baripada, June 3: A special Court in Cuttack on Monday convicted former Executive Engineer (Retired) Narahari Panda and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 2 years for possession of disproportionate assets.
The accused was earlier was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in Balasore Vigilance PS case U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) PC Act,1988 in DA case. The Court has also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 and in default payment of fine, he will undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 6 months more.
Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for stoppage of pension of Panda, Ex-Executive Engineer (Retired) of Brahmani, Subarnarekha, Baitarani Basin, Laxmiposi, Baripada in Mayurbhanj following his conviction.
