Bargarh, Ap 30: Bargarh Police have arrested the District Education Officer (DEO) and the Sadar Block Education Officer (BEO) following allegations of sexual harassment against a female CRC member. A total of three people have been taken into custody.

The arrested officials include District Education Officer Jyotikanti Sahu, City Block Education Officer Surendra Sahu, and Samir Panigrahi, a sports teacher at Satlama School. They are scheduled to be presented in court on Thursday.

According to sources, a woman CRC member from Bargarh Municipality filed a complaint alleging sexual harassment by the Sadar BEO. She reported the incident to the Bargarh Town Police Station, prompting an FIR. Based on her complaint, the police questioned the two education officers on Wednesday afternoon. Today, all three accused have been arrested, and police will produce them in court.

It is reported that the CRC member had previously lodged a complaint with the District Collector regarding the same matter. Administrative-level investigations are still underway.
