Bhubaneswar, Oct 23: The alleged murder of GRP constable Soumyaranjan near Balianta Kaj is still fresh in public memory, and another incident of alleged assault resulting in death has now been reported from the Balianta police station area in Odisha. Rinku Martha, a resident of Patana village, died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar on Thursday.

According to reports, the incident took place on Tuesday following a minor altercation in the village. Ashok Jena and his family members have been accused of assaulting Rinku over the dispute.

Rinku sustained critical injuries in the alleged attack and was rushed to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar for treatment. However, his condition deteriorated, and he succumbed to his injuries on Thursday.

The latest incident has once again brought the Balianta area into focus following the killing of GRP constable Soumyaranjan. While the two incidents are separate, the death of Rinku Martha has renewed attention on cases of alleged violence in the region.
