Ranbir Kapoor's upcoming epic shatters early box office expectations

Nitesh Tiwari’s highly anticipated cinematic adaptation of Ramayana has generated immense momentum at the box office, collecting Rs 5.44 crore in its first 24 hours of advance bookings. Nearly 92,000 tickets have already been sold across 104 cities in India. Premium pricing in major metropolitan hubs is driving these early revenue figures. In Mumbai, select recliner seats for IMAX 3D showings at Phoenix Palladium in Lower Parel are currently priced at Rs 2,770 for the November 5 opening day.

Delhi leads early ticket sales

National capital region viewers are currently leading the advance booking race, contributing Rs 1.52 crore from just under 20,000 tickets. Mumbai closely follows with Rs 1.10 crore in early sales. Shows in Mumbai are scheduled as early as 6:45 in the morning and run until nearly midnight to meet viewer demand. Regional language versions are also seeing traction, though the Hindi presentation dominates with Rs 5.15 crore of the total earnings. The dubbed Kannada version has brought in over Rs 27 lakh, while the Telugu release is steadily adding to the total. Bookings officially opened nationwide on Tuesday following brief distribution negotiations.

Expanding cinematic universe

Ranbir Kapoor stars as Rama alongside Sai Pallavi as Sita, while Yash steps into the role of Ravana. Viewers will also see Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman. Sony Pictures will handle the international distribution for the worldwide theatrical release. Fans looking forward to the complete epic will see the story conclude in the second part, which is currently scheduled for Diwali 2027.
