Balasore, Aug 26: Balasore’s daughter Jyotirmayee Nayak, who emerged as the winner of Indian Idol, was felicitated by Balasore Gaurav at a special ceremony held in the city on Tuesday evening.

The felicitation programme was organised at the Celebration Kalyan Mandap on OT Road. At the beginning of the event, members of the Balasore Gaurav family warmly welcomed Jyotirmayee and brought her to the venue in a procession.

The celebration was attended by several prominent personalities and thousands of admirers. Balasore MP Pratap Chandra Sarangi and Simulia MLA and District Planning Board Chairman Padmalochan Panda inaugurated the programme and congratulated the members of Balasore Gaurav for honouring a successful local talent.

Jyotirmayee was then given a grand felicitation. Several institutions, organisations and social groups also honoured the young singer for her achievement.

After being felicitated, Jyotirmayee expressed her happiness and spoke about her journey and the story behind her success. Her musical performance further captivated the audience, with thousands of spectators remaining engaged until the end of the programme.
