Bajaj expands its motorcycle lineup with two upgraded variants

Bajaj Auto just released two fresh variants in its popular 160cc motorcycle segment. Buyers can now choose the new Pulsar N160 S for Rs 1.33 lakh and the premium N160 SS for Rs 1.43 lakh, ex-showroom in New Delhi. This launch celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Pulsar brand, pushing the lineup into a more premium space. For over two decades, Indian riders have favoured the Pulsar series for balancing affordable performance with daily practicality.

Upgraded engine delivers more power

Engineers gave both models a stronger 164.5cc, four-valve engine. This motor pushes out 18.5bhp, which is a noticeable step up from the older 164.9cc two-valve engine that makes 16bhp. Riders will get 14.4Nm of torque. Bajaj says this lets the bike sprint from zero to 60kmph in just 4.5 seconds, making it the fastest option in its class.

Smart features and better handling

Electronic Throttle-by-Wire technology is now standard on these bikes. This system smoothly controls power delivery and opens up four unique riding modes. Riders can switch between Rain, Sport, Road, and Off-road settings to match current street conditions. Buyers choosing the N160 SS also gain traction control for extra grip on slippery surfaces. Another helpful addition is Crawl Technology. This feature lets you glide through slow urban traffic without constantly pulling the clutch.

Digital displays and fresh colours

Navigation is easier on the N160 SS thanks to a five-inch TFT screen that supports Google Maps. The company claims this is the first sports motorcycle in India to offer this specific mirroring feature. Both versions come in three paint choices, including Atlantic Blue, Pearl Metallic White, and Brooklyn Black. According to Bajaj, sales for the N160 family grew by 60 per cent in the first half of 2026. Data shows 70 per cent of these buyers are under 35 years old.
