Angul, April 20: Pankajini Biswal, Junior Revenue Assistant of Angul Collectorate was dismissed from Govt. service following her conviction by Special Judge, Vigilance, Angul in a bribery case.
Biswal, who was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in Cuttack for demanding and accepting bribe from a complainant in order to process file in respect of two mutation cases filed by his parents for issuance of RoR (Patta), was convicted by Special Judge, Vigilance, Angul on 12.05.2023 and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 3 years and fine of Rs. 5,000/- and in default of payment of fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 2 months for the offence.
Following conviction of Pankajini Biswal, Odisha Vigilance had communicated in this regard to competent authority of Collectorate, Angul to take appropriate action against Biswal.
Accordingly, today Biswal was dismissed from Govt. Service over bribery.
