Mumbai Jul 11: Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt joined the pre-wedding celebrations of her close friend, actor Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, ahead of her wedding to filmmaker Sharan Sharma. A video from the festivities has gone viral on social media, capturing Alia dancing to Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic song Maahi Ve from the 2003 film Kal Ho Naa Ho.

In the video, Alia is seen performing alongside Akansha’s sister, Anushka Ranjan Kapoor, and Anushka’s husband, actor Aditya Seal. Alia turned heads in an elegant purple statement saree that blended a traditional silhouette with a contemporary drape, adding glamour to the intimate celebration.

Akansha Ranjan Kapoor and filmmaker Sharan Sharma have reportedly been in a relationship since 2022, although they kept their romance away from the public eye. Sharan is best known for directing Mr. & Mrs. Mahi, starring Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor.

The couple are set to marry on July 11 in the presence of close friends and family. Choosing to keep the ceremony private, they have planned a grand reception for July 12.

According to reports, Akansha and Sharan have decided against traditional wedding rituals and will instead solemnize their marriage through a registered ceremony at the Ranjan family residence in Mumbai. The legal formalities will be completed in the presence of their loved ones, reflecting the couple’s preference for a simple, intimate, and personal celebration over elaborate customs.
