Mumbai, June 28: Popular actress Shefali Jariwala, best known for her iconic appearance in the music video "Kaanta Laga" and her stint on Bigg Boss 13, has tragically passed away at the age of 42. She reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest late on Friday night.
Her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, rushed her to the hospital, but doctors declared her dead upon arrival. Her body was later taken to Cooper Hospital around 12:30 AM for a postmortem examination.
In the aftermath of her death, Mumbai Police arrived at Shefali's residence in Andheri late at night to initiate an investigation. A forensic team was also present at the scene, conducting a thorough search of the house. While no official cause of death has been confirmed, the presence of police and forensic personnel suggests that the circumstances surrounding her death are being treated with suspicion.
A spokesperson from Mumbai Police stated, "Her body was found at her residence in Andheri. The police received information about the incident at 1 AM. The body has been sent to Cooper Hospital for a postmortem, and the cause of death is yet to be determined."
Shefali Jariwala rose to fame in 2002 with the hit music video "Kaanta Laga," which made her a household name. She also appeared in Salman Khan's Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and starred in the 2019 web series Baby Come Naa. In addition, Shefali participated in several popular reality shows like Boogie Woogie and Nach Baliye.
