Mumbai, May 10: The release of Aamir Khan’s much-anticipated film Sitaare Zameen Par has been postponed. Originally slated to hit theatres on June 20, 2025, the film’s new release date has not yet been announced.
According to a source close to Aamir Khan Productions, the decision was taken in light of the current tensions along the India-Pakistan border. “In view of the recent developments at the nation’s borders and the heightened alert across the country, the team has decided to delay the film’s trailer launch as well,” the source stated. “Our thoughts are with the brave soldiers safeguarding the nation. As responsible citizens, we feel it is vital to respond with unity and restraint during such times.”
Directed under Aamir Khan Productions, Sitaare Zameen Par is described as a spiritual successor to Aamir’s acclaimed directorial debut, Taare Zameen Par. The film promises a heartwarming and uplifting story, hinted at in its official poster, which features Aamir alongside 10 debutant actors — Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar.
This marks Aamir Khan’s return to the silver screen following his 2022 film Laal Singh Chaddha, the Indian remake of Forrest Gump. In Sitaare Zameen Par, Aamir will star opposite Genelia Deshmukh, adding further excitement to the project. The vibrant first look of the film has already generated buzz, promising an enchanting cinematic experience for viewers.
