
Sambalpur, Sept 6: A state-level Nuakhai Bhetghat will be held in Sambalpur today, marking the celebration of the region's most significant agrarian festival. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is scheduled to attend the event, alongside several key state leaders.
Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari, Health Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, Panchayati Raj Minister Rabinarayan Naik, and BJP State President Manmohan Samal are among the dignitaries expected to be present at the ceremony.
The event, organized under the leadership of former minister and Sambalpur MLA Jayanarayan Mishra, will take place at the parking area near the sacred Maa Samaleswari Temple.
Ahead of the program, Chief Minister Majhi will offer prayers at both Maa Samaleswari and Maa Pataneswari temples upon his arrival in the city. The Bhetghat aims to foster cultural unity and celebrate the rich traditions of western Odisha.
