​​​​​​​Berhampur, Sept 3: In a tragic incident, a class three student died reportedly after being bitten by a venomous snake in Badagada area of Odisha’s Ganjam district on Wednesday.

The identity of the child is yet to be ascertained.

As per reports, the incident took place in Raibandh village under Badagada police limits when the child sleeping at his home and a venomous snake bit him.

Unfortunately, the incident went unnoticed as the family was asleep. Later in the morning, when the family found the boy unresponsive, they rushed him to the hospital, where the doctors declared him brought dead.

Upon getting the information, police arrived at the hospital and seized the body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem.

A pall of gloom has descended over the village following the tragic incident.
