Bhubaneswar, August 17: At least 9 Odisha districts received deficient rainfall in the prevailing monsoon than the normal during August 1st-17, recorded the Indian Meteorological Department(IMD).
According to the latest weathercast issued by the IMD Bhubaneswar regional Centre, monsoon seasonal cumulative rainfall realized in Odisha during 01st June to 17th August 2025 is 707.0 mm against its normal value of 760.0 mm.
During the period 2 districts received excess rainfall whereas 19 Odisha districts witnessed normal shower. However, 9 districts received deficient rainfall as against the normal that might be problematic for the farmers of the concerned districts.
